Within a 10 kilometer radius or so there is a full range available, upwards of 15. Most offer 'menus' of varying price and numbers of courses. You can choose from simple country cooking 'meal of the day' served with a jug of wine or treat yourself to multiple courses with a bottle of the best Cahors on a terrace overlooking the Dordogne river. Nearly all serve the traditional local fare of duck, done in a number of different ways, and foie gras as well as the normal 'international' meals found in most countries. One actually only serves trout, all you have to do is decide how you want it cooked! A little further afield the choice and variety is endless and there is no trouble finding something to suite your taste/budget when out and about. However, should you prefer to create your own culinary masterpieces there are regular markets in the area where you can buy direct from the producers - farmers, gardeners, cheese makers, etc. A full range of meat, fish and vegetables are readily available. |
